Crack - Bang - Boom

Well October started off with a bang – well more like a crack. Yogi, my baby girl, who’s a dog, broke her foot. It has broken my heart to see her hurt and not being able to do what she is used to doing. We were able to find a doctor in Georgia that was affordable and less invasive then going in a putting a $3,000 plate in her foot (Yes that says three thousand). She now has three pins in her foot guiding her bones back together. We have to restrict her movement till after Thanksgiving (only crate and walking on a leash to go to the bathroom –no walks though) Then it wont be until 6 months where she is able to go back to being to rough and bumbly self. I’m glad her spirits are up, but as of this morning she is starting to rip the padding out of her bandage. It is also rubbing a spot on her leg to the point she has a score spot. Got any advice? She is still jumping on and off couches and beds, you would think she had good sense…

Quick Note: True Colors & B-day Wishes

Happy 60th Birthday Dad! “60 is the new 40” - Oprah Winfrey (and you know if Oprah said it, it’s true) PS this shirt was worn today by one of my boys. I thought it was fitting that it was also your birthday!!

Also this week was the 6th anniversary of September 11th. Showing my true colors…. I wore my red white and blue with my Uncle Sam 4th of July pin, even one of my little girls was showing her pride :-)

Summer of 07

This summer I was able to visit some of my wonderful family in California. I always have so much fun going out there! I was out for about 2 weeks. I spent my time sailing for a few days, visiting my cousin Stephanie in San Diego for a weekend, and visiting a few other special places.

Sailing

You know when you drive home and when you get there you don’t remember actually driving there? Well I think that’s how it with my dad is with Catalina Island. Its most defiantly his favorite island off the west coast.

The boat....

To play hard, you have to work hard - cleaning the fenders before making way and getting under way

Hanging out with Steph is so much fun, but Daphne was there so it was doubly fun! Mr. Porter’s first birthday was the same week I was able to visit so you know I had to bring some presents for him. Luke’s birthday was the weekend we were all together – oh no wait he wasn’t there - so we called him on his birthday (after he called us- something I would do).

Even though I was in SD for all of 48 hrs. we actually did a lot of stuff, an aquarium, a very awesome WWII memorial, sight seeing – and no I don’t consider shopping on base part of sight seeing :-)

He has gotten soooo BIG!
